Meet Dr. Warfield
Hello, I am Brett Warfield, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist and board-certified in interventional pain management. I attended Meharry Medical College and obtained my Doctor of Medicine degree. It was here that I developed a love for helping underserved communities. I completed my anesthesia residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship at John Hopkins University. Over the years, I have also been an assistant professor responsible for educating medical students, residents, and student cRNAs. I’ve worked as a community liaison for underprivileged youths. And after 15+ years of private practice and academic anesthesia, I recognized a need in The Woodlands and the greater Houston area for quality pain management care. I understand what it is like to be in pain, as I’m a cancer survivor. My mission is to help all people, regardless of background, color, or creed; you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect while receiving excellent care. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children, traveling, shopping, cycling, and volunteering for various community events.
Comprehensive Pain Management The Woodlands
Our office often sees patients for spinal pain, primarily affecting the head, neck, and back. By offering comprehensive pain management, our doctors take a whole-body approach to treat both the pain and the direct, underlying cause of the pain. Many pain management centers in The Woodlands use typical front-line treatments involving medication (most often opioids) and surgery. Doctors may also prescribe medication like muscle relaxants or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Other types of interventions may include those such as steroid-based injection therapies, epidural injections, alternative therapies, or physical therapy. If these methods fail, surgery is usually the last resort, as patients will have recovery times afterward, and it typically takes more of a toll on the body. Most commonly, patients will seek a doctor for back pain, an area our office specializes in treating. Back pain, and other types of chronic pain, can result from many issues.
